A cozy restaurant with very nice staff. In summer you can sit outside nicely. Unfortunately, there isn't that much space inside. I can highly recommend the breakfast. There are plenty of delicious options for vegetarians too.

The ambience has unfortunately become the best thing about this restaurant! A few years ago I was one of the regulars there. The food at the time was delicious, looked homemade and the service was okay. When I stopped by there recently, after a few years, I had to find out that the corner shop has a new operator and the qualities that I once valued no longer exist. My companion was served an almost cold dish, which also tasted strongly of frozen food and was very dry. My order was warm, but the string sausages were split open and therefore also slightly watered down and the much too sour lentils also tasted very much like a not exactly high-quality finished product, which was more badly than badly seasoned. That a kitchen gives the plates out to paying customers is a cheek and absolutely incomprehensible to me! The "cook" justified the lack of sauce in the dish of my companion by saying that he hardly had any left. After I contacted the waitress with the request, the much too cold dish (lukewarm would be really gentle!) Was at least warmed up and a little more sauce was added. In general, the handling was anything but professional, which is really not possible with the pricing that prevails there. The prices are still very similar, if not the same, as they were 4 years ago, but back then you got something for it and you could look back on your visit there with satisfaction. Unfortunately I can absolutely NOT recommend this restaurant (anymore)! What a shame!! Oh yes, when I explained to the waitress during the checkout process what did not fit in my opinion, she explained to me that they should not be compared with a "real" restaurant, because they are just a cafe bar and therefore you cannot Expect restaurant standard.

My last visit was here at the end of July 2011. Been here again today. Food, just as tasty and plentiful, as it was back then. Service friendly and quick. There is nothing to complain about.

The Emma used to be great! I was there today. Toilets dirty, no toilet paper and everything was broken. Had to sit in there because it was raining a little. Inside, the tables weren't worn and the windows and rows of seats were just filthy. I won't be going there anytime soon!

More a bar than a café. For breakfast: baked rolls from the day before, cheese and ham were not stored in the refrigerator but kept warm, fruit such as the bananas overripe, too expensive for the price as not even a hot drink is included. The cappuccino tasted watery. Plus a long wait. We do without and will not come again.

The 2 points are for the ambience ... service was very inattentive, the waiter even forgot to order our food although not much was going on. He preferred to stand behind the counter himself and ate his bun. At the cocktail the ice was missing because supposedly there was none, but at the neighboring table the glass was full of ice cubes ...

An Austrian family business since 1924, which receives regional raw materials from 350 contract farmers. All raw materials are GM-free and transparently traceable from the field to the mill. Awarded the quality label AMA. The rolls are freshly produced for the restaurateurs, pre-baked, frozen packed and delivered to the catering trade. The restaurateur then bakes them in the ovens of Fa. Resch and Frisch ready for you and can provide so fresh rolls that are still warm. By the way, every baker does that. He manufactures the products at his headquarters and distributes them to the stores, who then bake them in their stores. It is nothing else. Why does Aunt Emma do that? It is not foreseeable how many breakfasts will be sold that day, ie how many guests will have breakfast each day. Previously, there were the rolls from the bakery next door. But many bread rolls had to be thrown away or processed into crumbs or bread dumplings. Or it was when there was a rush, no more bread rolls available and the bakery next door had already closed. So it can be guaranteed that there are always fresh rolls and always warm at the table. It may well happen that the rolls inside still have a cold core, so the rolls should never be cut open immediately and be pulled for 5 minutes at the table / rest. Then it is a perfect healthy and fresh enjoyment. Impatient guests should not cut each bun in succession to get the same result but just wait a little bit. You can enjoy a nice breakfast in peace and you take your time. Hectic is the whole week. We visited Backnang for the first time today and got stuck with Aunt Emma. We were received very nice and cared for. Our food was delicious and also huge. Actually, we wanted to treat ourselves to a dessert, but after the main courses not more :-) Aunt Emma is highly recommended and we will be back.

Nice pub/café where you can enjoy some good warm dish and I personally recommend the Flammenküche or the local speciality like Schwäbian Maultaschen. But, most important, don't absolutely miss their Apfelstrüdel! The ambience is very nice and the personnel very friendly and English speaker. Well done guys!
